Hey Everybody,

I have had a request from APA general counsel Vaughn to have access into the private forum.

The standard has been that only examiners are permitted into the forum. I've made a few exceptions in the past for instrument vendors because the majority said they don't mind that and it could be helpful.

I'll be honest, although I can't see a particular reason not too, something doesn't sit right, but I'd like to hear everyone's perspective and I'll probably just go with the majority opinion.

Here is Vaughn's stated purposes for desiring to be here:

"Thought that from time to time there may be a topic for which general counsel of the APA’s views would be of importance."

and this after I asked him point blank if there was any motivation to snoop for legal/political reasons. sorry, i couldn't think of a better word than snoop at the time.

"It is not my intention to snoop on anyone. Having said that, if I saw something on a post that I thought should be brought to APA’s attention I would feel obligated to do so."

This board has always been about providing a secure community for examiners to talk freely, so based on that, let me know what you think.

Hi,

I agree !! Gordon's time honored legal advice to APA stands on its own merits. Further, I have tried to keep him informed via email about the legal pathways and successes in Asylum and other Immigration Court progress, Our Grogan /PEOA problem, etc. over the last couple of years. We could really use is fine legal mind here on this site.

Ralph,

If there are legitimate concerns among this community regarding the use of statements or other materials that are published within, then perhaps developing some “blogging ethics” would be appropriate. There are numerous examples throughout the Internet and several books address this issue. Some blogs require an initial agreement to such ethical codes prior to entering or participating in such a forum. This may eliminate some concerns of those individuals who post here. However, this is just a thought.

If Gordon doesn't know the secret-polygraph-handshake by now, then something is wrong.

Let him in.

Seems like a "No Brainer" to me. Here is a guy with more polygraph legal experience than anyone I know and he wants to be a part of our discussion. He would be a welcome addition.

While I was aware of the rules, I didn't think someone with that much insight was excluded.

By all means allow the Counselor in...

I agree with the majority of the opinions which have been posted. Gordon has been a friend of polygraph for many years. I have worked with him on the Board for 8 years and he has given us sound legal advice. He doesn't have any hidden motives and would be a welcomed voice.

Of course, we'll need a nice picture from him for some photoshop hazing. I'm thinking of maybe an afro paste and an evening gown---you know, Diana Ross-ish circa 1967. Something different.

......Or might he sue for defamation?
